ORAL HISTORIES

For many years, Viet taught a class at the University of Southern California on the American War in Viet Nam. The students interviewed survivors of the war, and sometimes their descendants, from the United States, Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Laos. These 230 oral histories from soldiers, civilians, refugees, men, women, and young adults provide an intimate, collective account of war’s impact on many different kinds of people.
