Viet Thanh Nguyen and Ellison Nguyen share writing tips and more for an Ivanhoe school assembly.
Ivanhoe students will get a firsthand look at how to write creative stories in a virtual school assembly with father-son writing duo Viet Thanh Nguyen and Ellison Nguyen. They’re the authors of “Chicken of the Sea,” a whimsical tale about three chickens that escape a boring farm and seek adventure on a pirate ship.
In the virtual school assembly, they’ll talk about their inspiration for the book, share writing tips, and answer questions from students. AM cohort students will watch with their teachers in class. PM cohort and remote-learning students will log in individually from home (teachers will share the Zoom log-in info). Students in Beyond the Bell will watch the assembly at school via either iPads or a projector provided by staff.
