Texas Tech University houses the largest Vietnam Archive in the United States, and West Texas has been home to thousands of war veterans and immigrants. From April 11 to 12, Texas Tech’s Comparative Literature Symposium on “War, Empire, and Culture” examined the political and economic dimensions of wars in American and global contexts and the representation of wars in different cultural forms, genres, and media. Viet was one of the three selected keynote speakers and delivered the speech, “Impossible to Forget, Difficult to Remember: The American War in Viet Nam.”
