Held from May 12 to 13, at the University of California, Santa Barbara, “A Conversation for the 21st Century” was a series of panels and plenary sessions examining new directions in Ethnic Studies research. This “Multiethnic Alliances” conference was sponsored by the Center for Black Studies, the Department of Black Studies, the Department of Asian American Studies, the Department of Chicana/Chicano Studies, and the Center for Chicano Studies.
